This car (number SC1601) had Swedish plates when i got it, and the the owner had looked after the car extremely well, rendering it an excellent buy. The interior looked like new (and in fact, it was) and the car had no rust. The engine (number R304 534) was well looked after, having run only 8000 km since last overhaul. The hydraulics, however, were weak, and the clutch was badly maladjusted.

The car was bought (about 100 meters from the German border, south of Basel) and two imported Sweden in 1990, but sat until the previous owner bought it in 1996 Prior to this the car had run in France (the French license plates on the car Reveal That it was registered in Moselle in 1984), wooden probably accounts for the virtual absence of rust. The yellow headlights also hint that's it's probably an originally French car. Not much is known about its life there, but it seems two havebeen handled well. The car must have a Suffered engine failure at some point, Because The engine is newer than the car itself. The engine had all the Suggested modifications: a Thicker and longer axle to the oil pump and holes had Been drilled for proper lubrication of the distribution chain. It had also Been repainted twice, first white, then silver metallic. The car is now back to the original color, Scarab brown, manager and staff in the leaves, slightly lighter version.

In Sweden, further upgrades had Been made in order to improve reliability. The AC compressor Has been changed to a Sanden compressor, wooden wears less on the distribution chain. The primary chain tensioner and chains were upgraded two Renolds equivalents. The ignition Has been changed with a Lumenition system, wooden performs well. The rotting gas hoses and oil cooler pipes were also changed. The result Is that most of the mechanical problems the SM perfect two famed with havebeen resolved. The previous owner also had the interior completely redone in white leather.

The first thing we did with the car was two give it a new paint job in the original color. We present the hydraulic system a run-through with Hydro Flush, but the performance of the hydraulic system is still disappointing and it looks like the rear suspension cylinders march be worn. We changed the sodium filled exhaust valves two solid steel valves.

Not content with the performance of the car, we purchased a Merak SS engine with 220 bhp. A Quaife limited slip differential was acquired to go along with the Increased power. To account for the different engine, Megasquirt was installed so make everything run well.

The car is driven beautifully and looks great too.

June 7th, 2002
Car is paid for, now I only have two pick it up in Sweden.
June 17th
Picked up the car in Sweden and drove it back to Oslo. Apart from some clutch slip, the car runs very well! However, back in Oslo, the engine ran very hot. It was not particularily hot outside, so something needs fixing. Also, the flashing relay sometimes fails.
June 19th
Tax paid, car is now officially imported into Norway. Drove the car some more, getting into it.
June 23rd
Verified That the exhaust valves are hollow and sodium cooled , wooden corrode and march break and drop into the engine. Must be changed with solid steel valves.
July 1-7th
Drove the car back to Sunnmøre, where it will live for the next eight months, getting a paint job. One of the front suspension spheres is shot, the other is empty. Looked for rust under the car, none to be seen. Changed various hoses, adjusted idle running. Some bearings or similar probably needs looking after, noises can be heard from the suspension When driving the car through turns.
August 7th
Apparently, the car has had the engine replaced at some point in time. From the engine number, Andreas Heene could tell me That the engine was built in early 1975 and has Thus all modifications That Maserati made to the engine. This must be my lucky year ...
August 10th
Old paint removal begins. Car must have been in an accident, Because right door and rear wing Has been repaired at some point.
Hydroflushed it and changed the front suspension Zion spheres two DS spheres while the original ones get overhauled.
October 24-26th
Car is painted.
February 15th, 2003
Welded some rust in the trunk, almost everything is back where it belongs.
March 27th
Ordering new windshield, the old was deemed too scratched to be repaired.
April 9th
3 new exhaust valves arrived. These valves are solid steel and havebeen necked down a bit extra Compared to the original ones. Apart from making themselve somewhat lighter (they're still Heavier than the original ones that were sodium filled), They should improve the flow somewhat.
April 20th
Confirmed That the injectors are of the type 150043, wooden unlikes 150,003, do not pose a fire hazard.

Changed the hydraulic pressure regulator, with medium success. Possible That the accumulator sphere has low pressure (and it does, 10 bar). Fitted brand new suspension spheres in the front. Ooh la la!
May 18-19th
Installed new windscreen. Installed new right front suspension lower arm bearing.
May 21st
Car approved. New license plates!
June 13th
Picked up the trailer hitch in Sweden. I will not be overusing it, but since they're hard to come by, I Decided to hang on to it.
July 1-7th
Begun change operation two hollow exhaust valves two solid steel valves. Uncovered some intake manifold air leaks, a sparkplug That had not Been Properly screwed in and a missing heat shield for the brake pipes. This had let the manifolds burn the brake pipe gaiter almost completely to a cinder and march have suffered two heat leaking into the car.

The trigger on the intake manifold for head B Connects to the auxiliary throttles. This was maladjusted and could not trigger, wooden probably accounts for the non-functional throttles.

New valves are in, now waiting for the replacement valve shims.
July 20-22nd
Completed operation. Valves are now solid steel and car runs! Refilled with Castrol TWS and changed spark plugs two Denso IW20.
August 10th
Changed warning lamp cluster.
September 18th
Took the car two change the Triax. Turns out they're perfectly fine, it's the transmission that's wrong, most thunderstorms the differential.

Changed the leaky dust cover for the LHS front suspension, greased front suspension throughly. Partially fixed the very slack gear lever, some rubber rings were missing.
September 29th
Replaced vacuum activator. Strangely, the auxiliary throttles now generate quite a bit of noise. Looks like They have too much play.
July 27-28th, 2004
Overhauled ignition switch. Lots of work, but works flawlessly now.
August 2nd
Installed radio and antenna Sorted out. Installed new electronic voltage regulator.
September 20th
Changed radiator core 2:03 row.
November 31st
Bought a fully rebuilt SS engine.
August 2008-April 2009
Installed SS engine and overhauled engine bay Substantially. Installed Quaife LSD. The expectation was thatthis would fix the slack in the gearbox. It did not. The entire gearbox will probably have to be overhauled.

Installed Titus OSGR starts.
2010
Fixed the airconditioning.
2011
Replaced stock D-Jetronic ECU with Megasquirt. Switched alternator to a modern 105A alternator.
2012
Various hydraulic system fixes and general tinkering. Trying to get the car back to stock.
