Seller Description
Up for sale is my 1973 Citroen SM, the innovative French "supercar" powered by Maserati. Runs and drives very well. Key features of these cars include hydropneumatic self-leveling independent suspension, fully powered and self-centering steering, front-wheel drive, and disc brakes at all four wheels(fronts inboard). I purchased the car in 2003 in New York City from the second owner who had the car for less than one year. First owner had the car for nearly 30 years and was garaged in CA and AZ. I have all repair and maintenance receipts through the period of my ownership only.

The good:
All the mechanical weak points have been addressed, repaired, and documented as follows:
-Replaced factory plastic power window gears with brass gears in both doors
-Replaced main accumulator sphere
-Installed electronic ignition(123)
-Replaced rear suspension spheres/ new bump stops
-Cleaned/flushed oil cooler and installed new hoses
-New front and rear brake pads installed
-Rear brake calipers overhauled
-Fuel pump filter and hoses renewed
-New Aeroquipt transmission cooler hoses installed
-Alternator rebuilt (new bearings, diodes, stator)
-Replaced factory voltage regulator with electronic version
-Michelin tires with less than 1000 miles on them
-Front spheres rebuilt/recharged
-Removed, rebuilt, and resynchronized all three Weber carburetors

At Excelsior Motors in KY(2007-2008):
-Cylinder heads removed and solid exhaust valves installed
-Euro. headers and stainless steel exhaust system installed
-gas tank interior cleaned and coated
-all new timing chains(main and camshaft) and new tensioner installed
-new water pump seal and impeller replaced

The bad:
Interior leather seats have dried out, resulting in some rips and stitching undone, esp. the front seats. The back seats aren't too bad. Dash is cracked. Exterior paint is somewhat faded and has some minor blemishes, dings, water spots, cracks, and areas of minor rust repair/repaint.

Other details:
A/C, air injection system, and original air cleaner have been removed. I kept most all original parts, to be included with sale of car.
Also included with sale are all books, manuals, tools, spare parts, original parts, etc.
The State of Maine does not require a vehicle older than 20 years to be titled, but I have a clear title from the State of NY and bill-of-sale from the second owner.
