Seller Description
Your are bidding on a gorgeous original, rust free 1973 Citroen SM with 38,500 original miles on the original Maserati engine with automatic transmission, beautiful silver paint with rich cognac leather interior. This automobile has lived a charmed life in CA where it has never seen, rain, snow, or ice. It is a tremendous example of a 1974 SM and you would be hard pressed to find one in better condition that has not been fully restored. This car does not require restoring, it is simply a truly remarkable example of a 40 year old Citroen. This automobile is equipped with air conditioning as well as power windows, power steering and the original Citroen Radio with electric antenna. It also comes with a full set of original books, as well as service records. Only one blemish to the right front fender can be found on the exterior, interior leather is amazing and has no blemishes. SM’s I see for sale are usually within two spectrums – the restored version that cost between $40-$50K and the sitting in a barn for 40 year version. This is much closer and dare I say would rival any fully restored version but at a more reasonable price. This is an untouched and unmolested survivor that would be an incredible addition to any Citroen Collector's collection.
Although in top condition when it was purchased from the 2nd owner in Orange county CA in 2006, it was given what was needed the last few years: All work was performed by Paul/Rudy Helig at Citroen Concourse in Southern California and he can attest to the condition of this SM. Spent over $9,000 in the last 7 years to ensure everything was in excellent mechanical & original condition.
